Cities: Skylines II features three types of policies: city policies, district policies and building policies.
City policies
City policies are applied to the entire city.
Policy | Required milestone | Effect |

File:Policy harsh prison sentences.png Pre-Release Programs | 5 | Prisoners are enrolled in educational programs before they are released from prison. This helps them integrate back into society and reduces the likelihood of committing crimes again. |
File:Policy advanced pollution management.png Advanced Pollution Management | 6 | Industrial filters reduce air and ground pollution in industrial zones, but produce more garbage. |
File:Policy city promotion.png City Promotion | 10 | Advertising increases the city's Attractiveness, which brings in more tourists. This unfortunately also increases the crime rate around touring attractions. |
File:Policy high speed highways.png High-Speed Highways | 10 | Removes highway speed limits. Traffic flows faster, but noise pollution increases, and traffic accidents are slightly more likely. |
District policies
District policies are applied manually to districts.
Policy | Required milestone | Effect |

File:Policy speed bumps.png Speed Bumps | 5 | Reduces the speed of vehicles driving within the district. This lowers the chance of accidents and brings noise pollution down significantly. |
File:Policy heavy traffic ban.png Heavy Traffic Ban | 6 | Trucks and other heavy vehicles are forbidden from entering the district. This reduces noise and air pollution and can help traffic congestion. Highways remain unaffected. |
File:Policy gated community.png Gated Community | 7 | Only people living or working within the district are allowed in. This increases the well-being of its residents and reduces crime in the area. Does not affect City Services. |
File:Policy combustion engine ban.png Combustion Engine Ban | 10 | Fuel burning vehicles are forbidden from entering unless they belong to district residents or businesses. This reduced noise and air pollution within the district. |
