由于《都市:天际线2》模组平台在游戏发售五个月后才姗姗上线，加之更新内容乏力，海滩资产包内容不足、价格昂贵等问题，导致该DLC在Steam平台获得了大量差评，发售数日内即达到了“ 差评如潮”的评级，继2021年《欧陆风云4》 利维坦DLC后打破Steam平台评价最低商品纪录，好评率达到了 4% 的低值。
